The city has a very well developed bus network, through which it is also connected to Madrid and many neighboring places. history

San Sebastián de los Reyes was founded in 1488. Some families fled the city of Alcobendas under pressure from Baron D. Juan Arias de Ávila. The city bears the title “de los Reyes” because it was granted city rights by the Catholic Kings . These granted the rights so that the baron's power would not become too great with the only condition that a memorial for San Sebastián be built.

Agriculture was the only economic factor in the city until well into the 20th century. After San Sebastián de los Reyes grew enormously in the 1970s, like almost all of Madrid's peripheral cities, there are now well over 2500 companies and headquarters there, including many international companies.

Regular events

The fiestas are among the most spectacular in Spain. As in Pamplona , bull runs are held every morning with the bulls who fight in the arena in the afternoon. Because of the quality and extent of these runs and fights, San Sebastián de los Reyes is sometimes called Pamplona chica (Little Pamplona).
