Las Rozas is one of the largest municipalities in the autonomous community of Madrid and is located about 18 km from Madrid in the north-west of the city. Since 1991, the population has more than doubled from 35,000 to 95,814 on January 1, 2019.
The municipality is connected via the A-6 ( A Coruña - Madrid), the M-50 (bypassing Madrid) and the M-505, which leads to El Escorial . There are also some bus routes (Interurbanos) to the Moncloa metro station in Madrid: 621, 624 (Burgo de Las Rozas), 622 (Las Matas), 623 (Villafranca del Castillo), 626, 628, 629 (Parque Empresarial, La Dehesa and El Cantizal).
Finally, there is a connection with the Madrid S-Bahn ( Cercanías ), which stops at four stations in the Las Rozas area: Las Rozas, Las Matas, Pinar and El Tejar.
In Las Rozas is the Ciudad del Fútbol , the training ground opened in 2003 and the seat of the Spanish Football Association . The Spanish women's national soccer team has played most of their home games there in recent years.
