history
The history of Boadilla del Monte possibly goes back to the time of the Islamic-Moorish dominance over large parts of the Iberian Peninsula . However, there is no clear evidence from this period or from medieval times. The manorial rule over the small town (villa) belonged in the early modern period to the Counts of Toreno, in the 18th century then to the marquis (marqueses) of Mirabal. Josefa Micaela de Mirabal sold Boadilla and neighboring lands in 1761 to the brother of the reigning King Charles III. , the Infante Luis de Borbón y Farnesio , who immediately set about building a palace ( Palacio del Infante don Luis ) . About ten years after its completion (around 1765), however, he moved with his family to the Palacio de la Mosquera in Arenas de San Pedro .
During the siege of Madrid during the Spanish Civil War, after heavy fighting on December 14, 1936, the site was captured for the second time by the nationalists before they temporarily stopped their offensive on Madrid.
