Hajo Knebel
Hajo Knebel (born July 19, 1929 in Bunzlau (Lower Silesia), † January 28, 2006 in Simmern / Hunsrück ) was a German writer .
Life
He grew up in Martinwaldau ( Szczytnica ) and attended teacher training colleges in Heidanger / Oberlausitz, Obernigk and Belau ( Biała Nyska ?), But was then drafted into military service and was taken prisoner. After his release to the Eifel, he attended the Berg-Nassau Pedagogy 1946–1947 and the Bad Neuenahr Pedagogical Academy from 1947–1949 , where in 1949 he passed his first teacher examination. From 1949 on he worked as a teacher, first in the Heyweiler elementary school , then later at the secondary school in Simmern / Hunsrück , where he worked until his retirement in 1989.
From 1956 to 1989 he was a board member and 1st chairman of the Association of German Writers in Rhineland-Palatinate, the Association of German Writers (VS) Rhineland-Palatinate and the Support Group of German Writers (FöK) Rhineland-Palatinate, and for many years the editor of the journal Glaube and home .
In addition to his own books, he was also the editor and co-author of various works, published texts and poems in anthologies and wrote radio plays and television films for Südwestfunk .

- 1979 Cologne Poetry Prize for his poem Nostalgie
- 1988 Rhineland thaler from the Rhineland Regional Association for services to the arts and culture of the Rhineland
- 1988 Badge of Honor and Order of Merit of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate
- 1989 Grand European Prize for Literature “La Musa dell Art” in Modena
