Rhineland-Palatinate Art Prize
The Rhineland-Palatinate Art Prize is the state of Rhineland-Palatinate's highest artistic award . It is awarded annually by the Ministry of Education, Science, Youth and Culture "to recognize outstanding achievements", alternating in the fields of visual arts , literature , music , performing arts and film , and is endowed with 10,000 euros.
In addition to the main prize, sponsorship prizes of 7,500 euros will be awarded in the same category.
Award winners
The Rhineland-Palatinate Art Prize has been awarded since 1956, the Art Prize Sponsorship Prize since 1959. The first art prize was awarded to the composer Hermann Schroeder (1904–1984) in 1956 . The winners since 2001 are listed below:

- 2007: Hansgünther Heyme (sponsorship award: Nick Hobbs, "Choreographer in Residence" in the ballet of the Mainz State Theater )
- 2008: Fauré Quartet (sponsorship awards: Anna Sophie Dauenhauer and Joseph Moog )
- 2009: Ursula Krechel (sponsorship awards: Anke Velmeke and Katharina Schultens )
- 2010: Heiner Goebbels (sponsorship award: Katarina Veldhues and Gottfried Schumacher)
