Silke Aichhorn is a German harpist who performs both as a soloist and as a chamber musician .

life and work

Silke Aichhorn received her first harp lessons from Ursula Lentrodt at the Music School in Traunstein in 1981 . From 1990 she studied the instrument with Chantal Mathieu at the Conservatoire de Lausanne . In 1997 she received her artistic diploma from Han-An Liu at the Cologne University of Music .

With her extensive repertoire, she can be heard in various chamber music ensembles, as a soloist with orchestra at international festivals as well as in television and radio recordings. In addition to concert appearances in Europe, she has appeared in Australia , Brazil , Thailand , Japan and the USA . She works regularly with the flautist Dejan Gavric and the harpist Regine Kofler . In 2006 she founded her own CD label HÖRMUSIK .

Aichhorn has won multiple awards at international competitions. In 2001 she received the advancement award at the Rhineland-Palatinate Art Prize and in 2003 the Bavarian Poetentaler . In December 2012 she was honored as a culture and creative pilot 2012 by the initiative culture and creative industries of the German federal government . Since March 2013 she has been the hospice ambassador for Caritas Traunstein.

She is also a jury member at harp competitions and regularly gives master classes . In 2004 she had a teaching position at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory in Feldkirch, and in 2010 a guest lecturer for chamber music with harp at the Mainz University of Music . She taught several times at the Landesakademie Ochsenhausen , 2010-2013 she was a lecturer at the Festival Femusc in Jaraguá do Sul , Brazil. Since 2016 she has also been the managing director of the regional committee Jugend musiziert Südostbayern.

Silke Aichhorn lives in Traunstein, Bavaria. She is married and has two daughters.
