Martin Fogt

Martin Fogt (* 1955 in Munich ) is a German radio speaker and author, singer , director and musicologist .

Life

Martin Fogt was born in Munich in 1955, where he also spent his childhood and youth. In 1976 he obtained his Abitur at the Wittelsbacher Gymnasium . He then studied singing at the Munich University of Music with Margot Gerdes and received his diploma as a state-certified music teacher in 1981. At Bayerischer Rundfunk he received his speaker training from 1978 to 1979.

A postgraduate course in music education followed from 1981 to 1983 with Josef Zilch . Then he completed a postgraduate course in opera directing with August Everding and in 1985 he did an internship in directing at the Bavarian State Opera . In 1985 Fogt moved from the Munich University of Music to the Universities of Munich and Augsburg . There he studied musicology and art history, among other things . In 2010 he submitted his doctoral thesis on singing in teacher training in 19th century Bavaria.

Martin Fogt has been a speaker at Bayerischer Rundfunk since 1985 . At first he worked as a freelancer as a broadcaster, and has been a permanent employee since 1985. He acts as a presenter, directs, supervises his own series and productions and gives speech training for radio staff.

At the chair for music education at the University of Augsburg, Martin Fogt has been teaching singing, voice training , voice studies and speech training since 1981 , and from 2000 to 2007 he was also a lecturer there in music history . He also teaches voice training for prospective high school teachers, at the Bavarian Teachers' Association ( BLLV) , for the Catholic Educational Community and within the Hanns Seidel Foundation .

Fogt works as a singer and speaker in the fields of song , oratorio , melodrama and popular music . He designs concert programs and CD recordings, for example, together with the harpist Silke Aichhorn .
