The Katholische Erziehergemeinschaft eV (KEG) is an association of educators from all fields of education who are committed to Christian values. Based on their Christian convictions, changes in the educational system are sought.

Advocacy

The association represents its members in terms of status and professional law, offers training in educational holiday weeks and seminars as well as family camps. The Federal Association of KEGs is divided into 14 regional associations. Three of these regional associations bear the name CEG. The association represents the professional political interests of its members and promotes personal contacts between the members in the context of joint events, professional training and spiritual-religious reflection. To this end, it works with public and ecclesiastical bodies such as the responsible ministries, the political parties, the collective bargaining commission , the vicariates general or ordinariats , the diocesan charity associations and other bodies.

organization

The city, county or district group forms the basis. The state associations of the KEG are independent associations with their own statutes and honorary functionaries and serve in particular to represent the respective state government and diocesan instructions. The regional associations are members of the KEG federal association. The federal chairman and the executive committee represent the interests of the KEG at the federal authorities and at the supra-diocesan church bodies. Members are e.g. B. Socio-educational specialists, teachers of all types of schools, university lecturers and students of educational professions.

history

After the time of National Socialism , Catholic teachers of all types of school and members of social education professions in Germany reunited to form associations. The KEG Germany was formed from such Catholic associations.

publication

The bimonthly magazine "Christ & Bildung" reports on the work, various projects are presented and opinions are given on current (religious) educational issues.
