The Federal Association of Teachers at Vocational Schools (BLBS) is a trade union for the education sector within the dbb German civil service association . He organizes teachers at vocational schools and is a member of the Education International .
history
The trade union BLBS was founded as an association in 1949 . In April 2018, the teacher associations BLBS and VLW merged at the federal level to form the new Federal Association of Teachers for Vocational Education and Training (BvLB).
Goals and content
Advocacy
The BLBS is committed to strengthening vocational schools and securing qualified vocational training by securing interdisciplinary subjects, the continuation of foreign languages at the vocational schools and the inclusion of school performance in the final exams.
Publications
The BLBS publishes the trade journal Die berufsbildende Schule , which appears ten times a year, with a circulation of around 20,000 copies.
Regional associations
Because school policy falls under the cultural sovereignty of the federal states due to federalism , the BLBS is active in the state governments in particular through its 16 state associations:
