Christopher Haase (born September 26, 1987 in Kulmbach ) is a German automobile racing driver .

Career

His career began in 2006 in the ADAC Logan Cup . After participating, he switched to the newly founded ADAC GT Masters in 2007 , which he completed for the Reiter Engineering team in a Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 in the first season as the overall winner of the 2007 ADAC GT Masters.

In 2008 he continued his career in the same series and with the same team. His teammate, with whom he became runner-up in 2008, was Albert Prince von Thurn und Taxis . At the same time, he won the European Cup in the GT4 superlight class in 2008 on a KTM X-Bow .

In 2009 he competed in the FIA GT3 European Championship for Team Phoenix Racing in an Audi R8 LMS and made guest starts in the ADAC GT Masters, and also took part as a guest driver in the BFGoodrich endurance championship in a BMW M3 from Team Motorsport Lingmann and a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup S from the Mühlner Motorsport team. He finished the season as European champion in the FIA ​​GT3 European Championship. In December 2009 he was named Motorsportman of the Year for the third time in a row by the ADAC Nordbayern.

In 2010 Haase competed in the FIA GT1 World Championship with Dutchman Peter Kox in a Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT for the Reiter Engineering team. At the Sepang 12-hour race in Malaysia, he was able to achieve 1st place. For Mercedes-Benz he and Thomas Jäger achieved the first victory of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 on October 16, 2010 at the 34th DMV 250-mile race. Mercedes-Benz had not been able to celebrate any success on the Nürburgring Nordschleife since 1998.

In 2011, Haase took part with Phoenix Racing in the German ADAC GT Masters, in some VLN races and in the 24-hour races at the Nürburgring and in Spa-Francorchamps . He finished the season as runner-up in the German GT Championship. He also competed in the FIA ​​GT3 EM (first place in an Audi R8 LMS ) and in the FIA ​​GT1 World Championship (second place in a Lamborghini Murcielago).

In 2012 Haase drove the new Audi R8 LMS ultra in the European Blancpain Endurance Series . The vehicle was brought to the start by the WRT Racing Team. Haase also fought for positions with Phoenix Racing in the VLN endurance championship and the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring . There Christopher Haase celebrated the first overall victory in this race together with the vehicle manufacturer Audi. The German driver quartet Marc Basseng / Christopher Haase / Frank Stippler and Markus Winkelhock won with an Audi R8 LMS ultra (# 3). This victory in 2012 was the first overall victory in this race for Audi and all four drivers. Christopher Haase also finished the Blancpain Endurance Series in 2012 together with his driver colleagues Christopher Mies and Stéphane Ortelli as the overall winner.

In 2013 Christopher Haase started for the first time in the 24 Hours of Daytona in the Grand AM class. He also started again in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring and in Spa. In addition to participating in the Blancpain Endurance Series, Haase started together with ex-DTM driver Rahel Frey in an Audi R8 LMS ultra at Prosperia C. Abt Racing in the ADAC GT Masters .

In 2014, Christopher Haase started again at the Daytona 24 Hours, where he was able to secure pole position for the race. Due to a technical defect, however, he was unable to defend this position. In the 2014 season, Christopher Haase started for Paul Miller's racing team in the American TUDOR USCC. He finished the season with the runner-up title. In June 2014 Haase achieved the second overall victory in an Audi R8 LMS ultra, together with his teammates René Rast , Markus Winkelhock and Christian Mamerow , in the legendary 24-hour race on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife.

In 2015, Christopher Haase started for the first time at 12h from Bathurst / Australia. Here he took 9th place together with his colleagues Stéphane Ortelli and the extreme athlete Felix Baumgartner . Haase was also active again in America and took 3rd place in the overall ranking of the IMSA TUDOR USCC.

In 2016 Christopher Haase returned to Europe and competed in races in an Audi R8 LMS in the ADAC GT Masters and the Blancpain GT Series. He won the Sepang 12h race with Audi. This was Haase's second victory in Malaysia after 2010.

In 2017 Haase will be competing in the ADAC GT Masters with the Montaplast by Land-Motorsport team and his teammate Jeffrey Schmidt. In Europe, he competes in the Blancpain Endurance and Sprint Series races with the Saintéloc Racing team.
