History of the racing team

In 1990 James Finch began using cars in the Winston Cup, now the Sprint Cup. Jeff Purvis was active as a driver back then. The first race a James Finch car competed in was the Hanes Activewear 500 at Martinsville Speedway in 1990. Jeff Purvis came 28th in a number 12 car. In the years that followed, the team drove very few races and often changed the car's start number. In 2000, when Geoffrey Bodine drove the car, the team made it into the top 10 for the first time, at the big Daytona 500 , where they finished third. In 2002 Mike Wallace joined Phoenix Racing, where he finished ninth in his first race, the 2002 Daytona 500. From 2003 to 2006, the team only used Dodge cars in the Nextel Cup . In the Nextel Cup Season 2007 Phoenix Racing took far only participate in a race. It was the Daytona 500 in which Mike Wallace, who was behind the wheel, made another good result, fourth place.
