The BDZ German Customs and Finance Union (formerly Bund deutscher Zollbeamten ; BDZ ) is a union for employees in the business area of the Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF), which also includes the Federal Customs Administration . The BDZ was founded on January 20, 1948 in Hamburg and is a member union of the DBB beamtenbund and tarifunion . The BDZ claims to have 25,000 members. The federal office has been in Berlin since 2001 . The trade union day meets every five years and around 400 delegates from the district associations take part. Other unions in the field of customs administration are the Police Union and the United Services Union .

Federal management

The federal management of the BDZ Deutsche Zoll- und Finanzgewerkschaft is the political head of the union, which in addition to the federal chairman Dieter Dewes has four equal federal chairmen (Christian Beisch, Michael May, Thomas Liebel and Adelheid Tegeler) as well as the chairman of the Standing Committee for Seniors (Peter Link) belong. The election took place on the 31st trade union day in 2019.

The BDZ has the following district associations: Baden, BMF, Berlin-Brandenburg, Düsseldorf, Hanover, Hesse, Cologne, North, Nuremberg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Saxony, South Bavaria, Westphalia, Württemberg.
