The BSBD Federation of Prison Service Germany trade union in the dbb beamtenbund and tarifunion eV is the trade union of prison staff based in Stuttgart . Around 80% of all prison workers in Germany are organized in it. It represents and promotes the professional, legal, social and economic concerns of its members.

The BSBD is affiliated to the German Association of Officials and the dbb-tarifunion . The union is a collective bargaining partner of the federal, state and municipal employers.

Rene Müller (Hamburg) has been federal chairman since 2016. The deputy chairmen are Alexander Sammer (Bavaria), Horst Butschinek (North Rhine-Westphalia), Anja Müller (Hesse), Sönke Patzer (Schleswig-Holstein) and Rene Selle (Saxony).
