Dieter Dewes

Dieter Dewes (born July 19, 1955 in St. Wendel ) is the federal chairman of the German Customs and Finance Union .

Life

Dewes obtained his technical college entrance qualification after eight years with the German Navy and joined the middle border customs service in 1983 as a customs candidate . There he was u. a. at the border inspection service, in the field audit at the financial control of illegal work at the main customs office in Saarbrücken and completed the promotion to the higher customs service .

From 1988 to 2002 he was chairman of the local staff council at what was then the main customs office in Saarlouis and from 2002 to 2004 at the main customs office in Saarbrücken. In 1998 he became a member of the district staff council at the then regional tax offices in Saarbrücken and Koblenz.

Dewes has been a member of the main staff council at the Federal Ministry of Finance since 1996 and took over the office of chairman in 2003, in which he was confirmed in the staff council elections in 2004, 2008 and 2012.

In 1990 he took over the chairmanship of the local BDZ association Saarlouis. Initially deputy chairman, from 1999 to 2009 he was chairman of the BDZ district association Saarland.

Since 1993 he has been chairman for the middle inland customs service at the BDZ and since 1997 chairman for the entire middle service. He was elected Deputy Federal Chairman of the BDZ at the 2001 Trade Union Congress and was confirmed in this position by the 2005 and 2010 trade union days and elected federal chairman at the 2014 trade union day.

At the DBB Beamtenbund and Tarifunion he was a member of the federal executive board and the basic commissions “Pay and Supply”, “Internal Security” and “Budget and Financial Issues”.

Others

In Oberthal he was a member of the local council from 1994 to 2001 as well as deputy mayor and member of the local council. From 1993 to 2002 he was chairman of SV Blau-Weiß Oberthal and from 1991 to 1999 chairman of Theaterfreunde Oberthal in the Association of Saarland Amateur Theaters.

He is married and has two sons.
