The Vorarlberger Landeskonservatorium is an Austrian conservatory based in the city of Feldkirch in Vorarlberg . It is planned that the conservatory will become a private university in 2021 .
The history of the house goes back to the Jesuit college Stella Matutina , founded in 1856 , whose building it uses today. The State Conservatory was founded in 1977 as a state-owned conservatory and converted into a GmbH in 2003. First director was Anselm Hartmann , whose term of office until 2006 included the conclusion of the cooperation agreement between the State Conservatory and the Mozarteum University in Salzburg . Jörg Maria Ortwein has been the director of the Vorarlberg State Conservatory since 2006 .
Around 360 students are currently studying in the fields of talent development, professional studies and continuing education. In cooperation with the Mozarteum, students studying instrumental and vocal pedagogy (IGP) are led to a Bachelor of Arts degree in eight semesters. In the artistic studies, the state diploma is awarded after 12 semesters. In 2006, the Vorarlberg State Conservatory was awarded the European University Charter of the European Union , and since 2009 it has been a member of the University Association of the International Lake Constance University (IBH).
His cooperation partners include the Bregenz Festival , the ORF regional studio Vorarlberg , the music high school in Feldkirch and the cross-border music high school Schiers ( Graubünden ), as well as partners from culture and education in the Euregio Bodensee .
