The Jam Music Lab - Private University of jazz and popular music Vienna is an Austrian music university with public status and since January 2017 also private university based in Music City Gasometer in Vienna district of Simmering .
history
The Conservatory was founded in June 2011 by Marcus Ratka , Joe Valentin and Andy Bartosh . In November 2011, the Federal Ministry of Education, Art and Culture included it in the legal regulation for student grants for students at conservatoires , which enabled the students of the institute to receive scholarships and study grants under the Austrian Student Grant Act and to equate them with other students in this regard Austria took place. The public right was first granted in March 2012. In June 2014, the unlimited public right was granted. In January 2017 the institute was accredited as a private university. At that time the Jam Music Lab was the 13th private university in Austria and, after the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz and the Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna, the third private university for music.
Course offer
The Jam Music Lab specializes in training in the style fields of jazz and popular music with four-year vocational courses in the following areas:

- Instrumental (vocal) pedagogy (IGP)
- Media Music - Film Scoring & Music Production
The university offers a four-year bachelor's degree and, based on this, a two-year master's degree. The following academic titles may be awarded:
- Bachelor of Arts in Music
- Master of Arts in Music
- Bachelor of Arts in Music Education
- Master of Arts in Music Education
Passing an entrance examination is a prerequisite for any degree. A preparatory course is offered to achieve this goal.
