Paul Gallister
Paul Gallister (born September 5, 1984 in Vienna ) is an Austrian composer and producer who has increasingly worked as a composer of film music in recent years . He was a lecturer at the Institute for Composition and Electroacoustics at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna .
Projects
Paul Gallister studied media composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and graduated as Mag.art. from. He is composer and producer of the Viennese band Wanda , Nino from Vienna , Playing Savage, Ansa Sauermann and PauT . Gallister was responsible for co-orchestration and programming for the winning song of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest Rise Like A Phoenix by Conchita Wurst . He orchestrated several songs for the album Helvetios by the Swiss band Eluveitie .
Gallister composed the theme song for the TV series The Happiness of this Earth , which was shown on various channels in Europe. He has also written music for various films and documentaries, including Putin's games by the Israeli director Alexander Gentelev, which won the 2014 German Television Prize in the "Best Documentary" category. He composed the soundtrack for Dominik Hartl's short film Spitzendeckchen as well as his feature film Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies . For his film Beautiful Girl , he and Matthias Weber won the prize for "Best Film Music" at the 2015 Biarritz Film Festival . In 2017 he won the Austrian Film Prize for the soundtrack for Die Mitte der Welt .
Gallister also produces the rock band Wanda and the singer-songwriter Der Nino from Vienna .
With his collective Sound42 he and Lukas Hasitschka wrote the music for Tight Lines Fishing , which won the 2011 German Developer Award for "Best Social Game".
Gallister is a member of the Austrian Association of Composers and the International Society for New Music .
