Richard Wagner Conservatory

The Richard Wagner Conservatory for Music in Vienna was founded in 2009 as a music school and received public rights as a conservatory from the Federal Ministry of Education by decree of September 1, 2013 . It has its seat with two locations in the 12th district of Vienna .

Studies at the Richard Wagner Conservatory are divided into sections and semesters, as at universities in accordance with the 1962 Private Schools Act, depending on the field of study. The fields of study offered are instrumental and vocal studies as well as instrumental and vocal pedagogy (IGP), which are completed with an internationally recognized degree. In a preliminary course, students can prepare for the entrance exam.

A music school is attached to the conservatory where students can teach.

At the moment, students from many countries are being taught piano, organ, vocals, violin, cello, viola, double bass, flute, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon, horn, trumpet, tuba, guitar and accordion, and the language of instruction is German. Students must pass an entrance exam to be accepted at the conservatory, the minimum age is 16 years, there is no upper age limit.

The director of the Conservatory is Mirza Kapetanovic, the faculty currently consists of around 30 professors and lecturers who also teach at universities or are members of renowned opera houses, orchestras and ensembles.
