Anke Velmeke (born October 22, 1963 in Olsberg / Sauerland ) is a German writer .

Live and act

Anke Velmeke studied Romance and German from 1984 to 1990 . She graduated with the degree of a diploma translator from. After a stay in Barcelona , she now lives as a freelance writer in Geisenheim, Hesse .

Anke Velmeke is the author of novels , short stories , short stories and radio plays .

Awards

In 1995 she received the city of Mainz's literary advancement award , in 1997 the Martha Saalfeld advancement award of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate , and in 1999 a scholarship from the Berlin Literary Colloquium . In 2000, her novel "Luftfische" was awarded the special recommendation of the jury for the Aspect Prize and was named "Book of the Year 2000" by the sponsoring group of German writers in Rhineland-Palatinate . In 2001 she received the Literature Prize of the Society for the Promotion of Westphalian Cultural Work , in 2002 the Prize for Literature of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and in 2009 the Prize for the Rhineland-Palatinate Art Prize . In the same year Anke Velmeke was awarded the cultural prize of the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis. In 2010 she also received the Hans-im-Glück Prize from the Society for the Promotion of Westphalian Cultural Work.
