Andrei Gennadjewitsch Ogorodnikow ( Russian Андрей Геннадьевич Огородников ; born August 29, 1982 in Ust-Kamenogorsk , Kazakh SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Kazakh ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK Almaty in the Kazakhstan since 2017 .
Career
Ogorodnikow played from the juniors to 2005 at the top Kazakh club Kaszink-Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk . In 1999 he made the leap to the second senior team of the team, which played in the third-rate Pervaya League . Two years later he made his debut in the first team. With this he won the title of Kazakh Master four times between 2002 and 2005 . After a brief interlude at SKA Saint Petersburg in the Russian Super League at the beginning of the 2005/06 season , he soon returned to Kaszink-Torpedo in his hometown. Another championship title and a cup victory followed by 2008 .
In the fall of 2008, Ogorodnikov once again dared to jump to a foreign club. He spent the 2008/09 season at Jermak Angarsk , before the Kazakhs played again for his home club Kaszink-Torpedo in Öskemen from 2009 to 2011. For the 2011/12 season he moved to HK Ertis Pavlodar from the Kazakh championship. He stayed there for only a year and then returned to Kaszink Torpedo for two more years. He then played in quick succession for HK Arlan Kökschetau , HK Almaty and HK Beibarys Atyrau . Since 2017 he has been under contract with HK Almaty again.
International
Ogorodnikov played at the U18 European Junior Championships in Division I in 1999 and 2000 . He also played in the Under-20 World Youth Championship in 2001 and U20 Junior World Championship Division I in 2002 when he was the top scorer of the tournament. In the senior division, he played at the World Championships in the top division in 2005 and 2006 and at the World Championships in Division I in 2007 and 2008 . He was also part of Kazakhstan's squad for the Olympic qualifications for the 2006 Winter Games and the 2006 Winter Games in Turin itself, took part in the 2009 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver 2010 and was part of the squad for the 2007 Asian Winter Games , where he won the silver medal with the Kazakhs.
