Yevgeny Borissowitsch Uschkow ( Russian Евгений Борисович Ушков ; born April 16, 1976 in Novosibirsk , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Russian - Kazakh ice hockey player who was Kazakh champion and cup winner in 2006 with HK Kasachmys Karaganda .

Career

Yevgeny Uschkow began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of the HK Sibir Novosibirsk , for whose professional team he made his debut in 1994 in the International Hockey League , the top division of the Commonwealth of Independent States . From 1996 he played with the club from his hometown in the Superliga , which, as the successor to the IHL, was now the top Russian league. After relegation in 1998 he played with HK Sibir in the second-rate Wysschaja Liga . In 2001 he moved to league competitor Jantar Seversk , whom he left towards the end of 2003 to move to Kazakhstan for the first time. There he joined the HK Kasachmys Karaganda , for whom he was on the ice in both the Kazakh League and the Wysschaya League. With Kasachmys he became 2006 Kazakh champion and cup winner . After these successes he moved with the club to Sätbajew and was there again in 2007 Kazakh Cup winner. In 2008 he moved to Kaszink-Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk and at the turn of the year 2008/09 to Sputnik Nizhny Tagil , where he was also on the ice in the Wysschaya League. He spent the last three years of his career at HK Ertis Pawlodar , with whom he was Kazakh runner-up in his last season in 2012.

International

With the Kazakh national team he played at the World Championships in Division I in 2007 and 2008 in Division I and in qualifying for the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010 . At the Winter Asian Games 2007 in Changchun , China , he won the silver medal behind Japan with Kazakhstan .
