Sputnik Nizhny Tagil ( Russian Спутник Нижний Тагил ) is an ice hockey club founded in 1948 in the Russian city of Nizhny Tagil . The team played in the second-rate Vysschaja Hockey League until 2018 .
history
The association was founded in 1948 as Dzerzhinez Nizhny Tagil . Until 1992 the team played in the lower class Soviet leagues . 1992 to 1997 the club played either second or third rate. From 1997 to 2010 the club played continuously in the second-rate Wysschaya League . In 2010 he was included in their successor league Wysschaja Hockey League .
Sputnik Nizhny Tagil temporarily acted as the farm team of the KHL participant Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg .
In 2018 the professional team stopped playing.
