Oh Hyon-ho (born October 29, 1986 in Seoul ) is a South Korean ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Daemyung Killer Whales from Incheon in the Asia League Ice Hockey since 2016 .

Career

Oh Hyon-ho started his career as a hockey player on the Kyung-gi High School team . From 2005 he played for the team at Yonsei University . In 2009 he moved to High1 in the Asia League Ice Hockey . After four years with the professional team from Chuncheon, he moved to Daemyung Sangmu , the newly formed third South Korean team in the Asia League Ice Hockey, where he was on the ice for two years. In 2015 he returned to High1, but switched to the newly founded Daemyung Killer Whales from Incheon in 2016 .

International

For South Korea Oh Hyon-ho took part in the 2004 U18 World Cup in Division I and the 2006 U20 World Cup in Division II.

Oh made his debut in the South Korean men's team at the 2008 Division I World Cup . In 2010 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 and 2017 he also represented South Korea in Division I. At the 2018 World Cup , he played with South Korea in the top division for the first time.

He also participated in the in November 2012 in Nikko discharged the Olympic qualifying first round for the games in Sochi in part, 2014. There the South Koreans succeeded in kicking off a 5-4 win after penalty shootout against Great Britain . The British reached the next round, however, as South Korea suffered a 2-3 defeat after extra time in their second game against Asian opponents Japan . At the 2018 Winter Games in his own country, he then played for the first time in an Olympic final. At the Winter Asian Games 2007 he won the bronze medal with the East Asians behind Japan and Kazakhstan . At the Winter Asian Games 2017 he finished second with the South Koreans behind Kazakhstan.
