Yōsuke Kon ( Japanese 今 洋 祐 , Kon Yōsuke ; born September 21, 1978 ) is a Japanese ice hockey player who has been under contract with Nippon Paper Cranes from the Asia League Ice Hockey since 2014 .

Career

Yōsuke Kon began his career as a hockey player with Seibu Tetsudo Tokyo , for which he was active in the Japan Ice Hockey League from 2001 to 2003 . He then played for three years for the Kokudo Ice Hockey Club in the newly founded Asia League Ice Hockey , where he continued to play in the Japan Ice Hockey League parallel with Kokudo in the first year. From 2006 to 2009, the center went to the Seibu Prince Rabbits in the Asia League before moving to the Ōji Eagles . In the 2010/11 season , the left-shot was the best assists in the league with 45 assists. In the following season he won the championship title of the Asia League with the Eagles. In 2013 he moved to High1 in South Korea , but returned to Japan after just one year, where he has been with Nippon Paper Cranes ever since .

International

For Japan , Kon took part in the World Championships in 2000 , 2002 , 2003 and 2004, and in the World Championships in Division I in 2005 , 2006 , 2008 , 2009 and 2010 . He was also in his country's squad at the 2007 Asian Winter Games in Changchun and 2011 in Astana . At the Winter Asian Games 2007 he and his team won the gold medal and at the Winter Asian Games 2011 the silver medal.
