Alexander Gennadjewitsch Koreschkow ( Russian Александр Геннадьевич Корешков ; born October 28, 1968 in Ust-Kamenogorsk , Kazakh SSR ) is a former Kazakh ice hockey player who played for Barys Astana in the league from 1989 to 2010, among others .
Career
Alexander Koreschkow began his career in 1989 in the second Soviet division with Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk . In 1994 he moved with his brother Yevgeny to HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk , where he played until 2004. Further stations in the 2004/05 season were HK Sibir Novosibirsk , Severstal Tscherepowez and HK Metschel Tscheljabinsk . From 2005 to 2007 he played again in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Alexander was under contract with his last employer, Barys Astana from Kazakhstan, from 2007 to 2010.
International
In 1998 Alexander Koreschkow took part with Kazakhstan at the Winter Olympics in Nagano and scored three goals and five assists in seven games. Also in 2006 Koreschkow was appointed to the Kazakh national team and took part in the 2006 Winter Olympics, where he was able to record one goal and two assists in five games. At the moment Koreschkow is Kazakhstan's record player with 60 appearances. He also played for Kazakhstan at the C-World Championship in 1993 and the A-World Championship in 1998 and, after the changeover to the current division system, at the World Championships in the top division in 2004 , 2005 , 2006 and 2010 and in Division I in 2003 , 2007 and 2009 .
As a functionary and trainer
He has been working for the Kazakh Ice Hockey Association since 2012 and took care of the junior national teams. In this function, he also looked after the respective teams at the World Championships as general manager. At the Men's World Championships in Division I in 2015, he held the same position in the men's national team. Koreschkow has also been President of Barys Astana since March 2015.
