Akifumi Okuyama ( Japanese 奥 山 章 文 , Okuyama Akifumi ; born December 24, 1982 in Tomakomai , Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Tohoku Free Blades in the Asia League Ice Hockey since 2009 .

Career

Akifumi Okuyama began his career as a hockey player with the Ōji Eagles , for which he was active in the Asia League Ice Hockey from 2003 to 2009 . With his team, the attacker won the Asia League championship in the 2007/08 season. He contributed to this success with five goals and four assists in a total of 35 games. For the 2009/10 season, the Japanese international moved to the newly founded Tohoku Free Blades . With 15 goals and 24 assists in 36 games, he was one of the top performers. In the 2010/11 season, which ended prematurely due to the Tōhoku earthquake , he and his team won the championship of the Asia League Ice Hockey.

International

For Japan , Okuyama took part in the junior division of the U20 World Junior Championships in Division II in 2001 and 2002 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division I in 2005 and 2007 . He also took part with Japan in the Winter Asian Games 2005 , where he won the gold medal with his team.
