Sergei Alexandrowitsch Jakowenko ( Russian Сергей Александрович Яковенко ; born March 24, 1976 in Qaraghandy , Kazakh SSR ) is a former Kazakh ice hockey player who last played until 2014 at HK Arystan Temirtau in the Kazakh ice hockey championship.

Career

Sergei Jakowenko began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Awtomobilist Karaganda , for whose professional team he was active in the international hockey league between 1992 and 1996 . From 1996 to 1998, the defender played for Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk and Amur Khabarovsk in their successor Superliga . From 1998 to 2003 he was consistently in the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division, for Juschny Ural Orsk , HK tractor Chelyabinsk and Metallurg Serow on the ice. In the 2003/04 season he played in parallel for Kasachmys Karaganda in the Vysschaya League and the Kazakh ice hockey championship .

The 2004/05 season Jakowenko spent at HK Irtysh Pavlodar in the Kazakh championship. There he began the following season before he played for two years for his ex-club Kasachmys Karaganda, who had been relocated to Satpajew in 2006, in the Vysschaya League. There he was also used in the Kazakh league and won the national championship title in 2006 . The 2007/08 season he finished again with the Wysschaja Liga participants Barys Astana . From 2008 to 2010 he played for the Russian second division club HK Metschel Tscheljabinsk . For the 2010/11 season he joined the HK Sary-Arka Karaganda , for which he was used for two years in the Kazakh championship. He then moved to league rivals HK Arystan Temirtau , where he ended his career in 2014.

International

For Kazakhstan Jakowenko took part in the junior division in the U20 Junior C2 World Championship in 1995 and the U20 Junior C World Championship in 1996 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division I in 2007 and 2009 and the 2012 World Cup . In addition, he represented Kazakhstan in 2007 at the Winter Asian Games , where he won with his team the silver medal, and in the Olympic qualifying for the Games in Vancouver 2010 .
