Konstantin Viktorovich Kassatkin ( Russian Константин Викторович Касаткин ; born May 1, 1976 in Arkhangelsk , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Kazakh - Russian ice hockey player who became Kazakh champion in 2006 with the Kazakhmys Karaganda . Since 2016 he has been the assistant coach of Loko-Junior Yaroslavl in the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja League .

Career

Konstantin Kassatkin began his career as a hockey player in the junior division of Spartak Arkhangelsk. He later moved to Lokomotive Yaroslavl , for whose professional team he was active in the top Russian league from 1993 to 1995. The center spent the 1996/97 season at Kristall Saratow , then played for a year for HK Awangard Omsk in the super league . From 1998 to 2000 he was on the ice for his league rivals HK Lipetsk and Amur Khabarovsk . He then signed a contract with HK Sibir Novosibirsk from the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division. With his team he won the second division championship in the 2001/02 season and rose to the super league. However, he himself remained in the Wysschaja Liga and played in the following two years for one season each for the Russian clubs Energija Kemerowo and Molot-Prikamje Perm .

From 2004 to 2008 Kassatkin was under contract in Kazakhstan with Kasachmys Karaganda (after their relocation in 2006, HK Kazachmys Satpajew ). With the team, he became the Kazakh champion in 2006 , to which he made a significant contribution as the best template provider and player with the best plus / minus balance. In 2006 and 2007 he was the national cup winner . At the same time he continued to run for Kasachmys in the Wysschaja League. From 2008 to 2010 the Kazakh international played for HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk in the Vysschaya League. In both years he won the second division championship with the Russians and rose in the 2009/10 season with HK Ugra in the Continental Hockey League . Although he was team captain in the promotion season, he did not get a place in the KHL squad and played from 2010 to 2012 at the Kazakh club Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk from the newly introduced Wysschaja Hockey League . In the meantime, he took part in the playoffs of the Kazakh championship in 2011 with HK Saryarka Karaganda . After his time at Torpedo, he played for another year at HK Buran Voronezh and Titan Klin, also in the Wysschaja Hockey League. In 2014 he moved to HK Arlan Kökschetau in the Czech League, where he ended his active career in 2015.

International

For Kazakhstan , Kassatkin took part in the Division I World Championships in 2007 and 2008 . He scored a total of four goals in ten games and gave as many templates. He also represented Kazakhstan in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Vancouver 2010 .

Coaching career

After the end of his playing career, Kassatkin started working as a coach and has been the assistant coach of Loko-Junior Yaroslavl, the junior team of the KHL club Lokomotive Yaroslavl in the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja League , since 2016 .
