Energija Kemerowo ( Russian Энергия Кемерово ) is a Russian ice hockey club from Kemerovo .
history
The club was founded in 1997 as HK Kemerowo and renamed Energija Kemerowo a year later . Just two years later, in the 1999/2000 season , Energija Kemerowo competed for the first time in the qualification for promotion to the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division, and was able to prevail against Motor Barnaul in just under five games, with 1: 2 lagged behind in the best-of-five series. In the Wysschaja Liga itself Kemerovo was represented from 2000 to 2007 and failed in his first three years in the second division only in the final round of promotion to the super league .
In the summer of 2007, the club withdrew the men's team from gaming operations, among other things because the club's venue, the Oktjabryski sports and concert complex, was being renovated. Since then, the club has only provided junior teams.
