Vitaly Jurjewitsch Schulakow ( Russian Виталий Юрьевич Шулаков ; born May 9, 1983 in Angarsk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player .

Career

Vitaly Shulakov began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of Lokomotive Yaroslavl , where he was active until 2000. Then the defender spent two years with Samorodok Khabarovsk from the third class Pervaya League before he received a contract with his local rival Amur Khabarovsk . There he came in his first season only for the second team in the Pervaya League for use, but spent most of the season at Energija Kemerowo in the second-rate Wysschaja Liga . In the 2003/04 season, the left shooter stood parallel for Amur's professional team in the Superliga , as well as the second division Gasowik Tyumen on the ice, where he only appeared six times for Amur in the Superliga and a total of 36 times for Gasowik in the Wysschaja Liga.

After Khabarovsk's descent from the super league, Shulakov managed to gain a regular place in the second division team and to draw attention to himself with 20 scorer points in 58 missions as an offensive defender. At the beginning of the 2005/06 season he was then signed by HK Spartak Moscow from the Superleague, but he left the capital city after a year to return to Amur Khabarovsk, who had meanwhile been promoted to the Superleague. From the 2008/09 season Shulakov took part with his team in the newly founded Continental Hockey League . In 2012, after six years of membership in the KHL, he moved to Salawat Julajew Ufa , but left the club after a few months in January 2013 in the direction of Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk .

In May 2014 he was signed by HK Lada Tolyatti , returning from the KHL .
