Alexei Anatoljewitsch Medvedev ( Russian Алексей Анатольевич Медведев ; born January 13, 1982 in Penza , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with Severstal Tscherepowez in the Continental Hockey League .

Career

Alexei Medvedev began his career as a hockey player in the second team of Diselist Penza , for which he was active from 1998 to 2000 in the third-rate Pervaya League . During the 1999/2000 season, the striker moved to Severstal Tscherepowez , for whose first team he made his debut in the Superliga . The rest of the season, as well as the entire next season, he was on the ice for Cherepovets second team in the Pervaya League. Subsequently, Medvedev played for two years for HK Lipetsk , Gasowik Tyumen and Energija Kemerowo in the second-rate Wysschaja Liga , before he received a contract with Metallurg Novokuznetsk in the summer of 2003 , for which he was active in the superleague for the following four seasons.

From 2007, the Russian played for Salawat Yulayev Ufa , with whom he became Russian champions for the first time in his career in the 2007/08 season . In 2010 he moved to league rivals OHK Dynamo . In January 2011 Medvedev was signed by HK Sibir Novosibirsk . For this, the striker completed only six KHL games before Medvedev received another contract with Metallurg Novokuznetsk in June 2011. For Metallurg he completed 54 KHL games in which he scored 23 points scorer. In July 2012 he moved within the KHL to HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk , but left the club again in October of the same year and was again committed by Severstal Tscherepowez. At the end of the 2012/13 season, he also received a contract extension until 2015, but did not play a single game in the 2014/15 season.
