The OHK Dynamo ( Russian Объединённый Хоккейный Клуб Динамо ) was an ice hockey club from Moscow Oblast , founded in 2010 , which played its home games in the Malaya Sportivnaya Arena of the Luzhniki Sports Palace . The club colors were those of the previous club Dynamo Moscow, blue and white. In July 2012, the club returned to its original name and under the umbrella of the Dynamo sports club .
history
The team emerged after the 2009/10 season from the merger of the traditional club HK Dynamo Moscow with HK MWD Balaschicha, which has been more successful in recent years . As part of the merger, it was planned to play the club's home games in both the Balaschicha Arena and the Megasport Arena . Ultimately, however, the management decided to play all home games in the home stadium of HK Dynamo Moscow, the Luzhniki Sports Palace . With the HK Dynamo Twer a farm team for the Wysschaja Hockey League was founded. In addition, the OHK Dynamo established a junior team in the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja League , the Sheriff Tver .
At the start of the 2010/11 season , the club won the opening cup Kubok Otkrytija with a win against Ak Bars Kazan . At the end of the main round, The OHK took second place in the West Season of the KHL, but was eliminated in the round of 16 of the following playoffs against Dinamo Riga . In the summer of 2011, both OHK farm teams moved to Balaschicha in the Balaschicha Arena and were renamed HK Dynamo Balaschicha and HK MWD, respectively. Already in the second season of the merged club this was able to win the Gagarin Cup with a 4-1 win in the final series against HK Awangard Omsk .
In July 2012, the association took on the name of its predecessor, and President Mikhail Tyurkin resigned at the same time .
