Motor Barnaul ( Russian Мотор Барнаул ) was a Russian ice hockey club from Barnaul .
history
The club was founded in 1959 in the tradition of Spartak Barnaul, founded in 1954 . During the Soviet era, Motor Barnaul played in various leagues below the top division. From 1998 to 2006 , the team took part in the second highest Russian professional game class. Initially, the club belonged to the championship of the Russian Ice Hockey Association, which was held parallel to the Wysschaya League , and played in the Wysschaya League from the 1999/2000 season . Due to financial problems, the club was finally dissolved in 2006 and replaced by the Altai Barnaul club , which competes in the third-rate Perwaja league .
