Yevgeny Anatoljewitsch Blochin ( Russian Евгений Анатольевич Блохин ; born May 29, 1979 in the Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh ice hockey player who was last under contract with Barys Astana from the Continental Hockey League .
Career
Yevgeny Blochin began his career as a hockey player with HK Lada Tolyatti , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Russian Super League in the 1996/97 season . He then played for a season for their league rivals Disel Pensa , before the defender was under contract for three years each with Ischstal Ischewsk and Motor Barnaul in the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division. For the 2004/05 season he returned to his Kazakh homeland, where he played for Kasachmys Karaganda in the Wysschaya League and the Kazakh Championship in parallel .
From 2005 to 2008 Blochin played for HK MWD Tver , HK Dynamo Moscow , Metallurg Novokuznetsk and HK Sibir Novosibirsk in the super league. For the 2008/09 season , the left shooter moved to Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk from the newly founded Continental Hockey League . In this he scored two goals and three assists in a total of 35 games. He was then committed by HK Ugra Khanty-Mansiysk , with whom he was second division champion in the 2009/10 season and rose to the KHL.
After two more years for Ugra in the KHL Blochin left the club in May 2012 and moved to Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk together with Pavel Vorobjow . There, however, it only lasted one season: In the summer of 2013, he moved within the KHL to the Kazakh top club Barys Astana and played there until the end of the 2014/15 season.
International
For Kazakhstan Blochin took part in the U20 World Junior Championship in 1999 . Furthermore, he was in his country's squad at the A World Championships in 2005 and 2006 , and at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin . After a five-year international break, Blochin appeared again for the first time for the Kazakh team at the 2011 Asian Winter Games, which were played in their home country, and won the title with them with a 4-1 win in the decisive game against Japan . In 2013 he was both for the Olympic qualification , in which the Kazakhs failed by a narrow 3-2 defeat against the hosts at the tournament in Riga , and for Division I of the 2013 World Cup , in which the return to the top division succeeded , nominated.
