Ischstal Ischewsk ( Russian Ижсталь Ижевск ) is an ice hockey club founded in 1959 in the Russian city of Izhevsk . The team plays in the second-rate Vysschaya hockey league .
history
The association was founded in 1959. Until 1975 Ischstal played in the lower class Soviet leagues . In the 1974/75 season they were promoted to the second-rate league, in which the team spent a total of eleven seasons and won the championship three times in 1975, 1979 and 1981. Ischstal has competed seven times in the elite class of the Soviet Union and took 9th place as the best place in the 1981/82 and 1984/85 seasons.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union , the team could not participate in the game for two seasons in 1993/94 and 1994/95 for financial reasons. From the 1995/96 season, the club played for 15 years without interruption in the second-rate Wysschaja Liga . In 2010 he was included in their successor league Wysschaja Hockey League .
Ischtal Ischewsk acts as the farm team of the KHL participant Severstal Tscherepowez .
