The Humo Hockey Club is an ice hockey club in Tashkent , Uzbekistan . He will take part in the Wysschaya Hockey League (WHL), the second-highest Russian ice hockey league , from the 2019/20 season .

The club's general manager is Normunds Sējējs , most recently GM of Dinamo Riga . The team will mainly consist of Russian players.

history

Humo was founded to take part in the Uzbek ice hockey league that started again in February 2019 . Humo won the main round of the league, but was surprisingly eliminated in the first play-off round against Semurg Tashkent .

On May 31, 2019, the WHL announced Humo as a new participant from the 2019/20 season. Vitaly Prokhorov , vice-president of the highest Russian league KHL , had previously announced an Uzbek participant in the WHL - and from 2022 in the KHL -, with league competitor Binokor Tashkent being the favorite. Humo will also take part in the Kazakh ice hockey league with a farm team .

Stadion

Humo Tashkent plays - like the rest of the clubs in the Uzbek ice hockey league - in the Humo Arena in Tashkent. The stadium, which opened in March 2019, has space for 12,500 spectators.
