Bars Kazan ( Russian Хоккейный клуб Барс Казань ) is an ice hockey team founded in 2009 from the Russian city ​​of Kazan . The team previously played as the second team ( Ak Bars II ) of AK Bars Kazan , took part in the highest junior division in Russia (MHL) between 2009 and 2014 and has played in the second-rate Vysschaya hockey league since 2014 .

The team was founded in 2009 by Ak Bars Kazan as a farm team and registered for play in Russia's highest junior division, the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja Liga (MHL). The team achieved its best placement in the 2013/14 season, when it finished the main round in first place and reached the semi-finals in the play-offs for the Kharlamov Cup .

In the summer of 2014, the management of Ak Bars restructured its farm teams, so that Bars Kazan was registered for the second-rate Vysschaya Hockey League and Irbis Kazan rose from the MHL B to the MHL. In the 2014/15 season , Bars Ksan finished last in the league and missed the play-offs.
