The 2014/15 season of the Vysschaya Hockey League was the 23rd season of the second highest Russian ice hockey league and the fifth since the league was founded.

Changes compared to the previous year

Kristall Saratow and Titan Klin withdrew from the league for financial reasons.
The HK Lada Tolyatti returned to the KHL .
The HK WMF-Karelija changed its name to SKA-Karelija .
Bars Kazan was added to the league as an expansion team.

mode

The league includes 24 participants (22 Russian and two Kazakh). These will be played in the first and second leg against every other participant in the league. At the end, the teams are divided into 4 groups according to their sporting performance and geographical location, with each team playing once against the other group participants. As a result, each team plays a total of 52 games in the main round. The 16 best-placed teams then qualified for the playoffs, in which the second division champions are played. Each team receives three points for a win after regular time, two points for a win after extra time, one point for a loss after extra time and zero points for a loss after regular time.
