Neftjanik Almetjewsk ( Russian: Нефтяник Альметьевск ) is an ice hockey club founded in 1965 in the Russian city of Almetyevsk . The team plays in the second-rate Vysschaya hockey league .
history
The association was founded in 1965 as Sputnik Almetjewsk . Until 1980, the team, which was renamed Neftjanik Almetjewsk in 1986 , played in the lower-class Soviet leagues . In the 1991/92 season they were promoted to the second-rate Wysschaya League , in which the team won the championship title twice in 1994 and 2000. Both times she refrained from climbing. Until 2010 she continued to play in the Wysschaja Liga, before she was accepted into the successor league Wysschaja Hockey-Liga in 2010 .
In 2016 Neftjanik won the championship trophy of the Vysschaya Hockey League, the Bratina Cup .
