Maxim Olegowitsch Majorow ( Russian Максим Олегович Майоров ; born March 26, 1989 in Andijon , Uzbek SSR ) is an Uzbek - Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Salawat Julajew Ufa from the Continental Hockey League since November 2015 .
Career
Maxim Majorov was born in Andijon , but grew up in Leninogorsk and attended the ice hockey school there.
Majorov began his career in the 2005/06 season in the second team of Ak Bars Kazan , which played in the Russian third division . For the 2006/07 season he moved to the Wysschaja Liga , the second highest Russian division, to Neftjanik Leninogorsk . There he scored ten points in 28 games before moving to Neftjanik Almetyevsk within the league . In five games he was able to score two points. He also played in four playoff games. In the NHL Entry Draft 2007 he was selected in the fourth round in 94th place by the Columbus Blue Jackets , but moved back to Kazan for the time being. There he played 13 games in the Superliga in the 2007/08 season and scored one goal.
In the summer of 2008, the Blue Jackets got the 18-year-old to sign a $ 1.8 million, three-year contract valid for the National Hockey League and American Hockey League . After the winger had spent the first half of the 2008/09 season with the Syracuse Crunch , Columbus farm team in the AHL, he was appointed to the NHL squad for the first time in early 2009 and made his debut.
Between the beginning of the 2012/13 season and December 2014 he played for Atlant Mytishchi in the Continental Hockey League , rather he was given to HK Dynamo Moscow against payment of financial compensation . There he did not get beyond the role of a supplementary player until the end of the season and then left the club. On November 9, 2015 he received a contract with Salawat Julajew Ufa until the end of the 2015/16 season .
International
Majorov represented Russia in the 2007 Super Series , an eight-game series between the Canadian and Russian U20 teams. He recorded two assists and two penalty minutes in seven games. The striker was not included in the Junior World Championships.
