Philip Elzer Gade Larsen (born December 7, 1989 in Esbjerg ) is a Danish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Salawat Julajew Ufa in the Continental Hockey League since April 2017 .
Career
Philip Larsen began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of Esbjerg IK , where he was active until 2005. The defender then moved to Rögle BK , for whom he made his debut in the HockeyAllsvenskan , the second Swedish division, in the 2005/06 season . After only one year he left this again and signed a contract with Frölunda HC , with whose U20 juniors he was champion of the corresponding age group in 2007 and 2008. In addition, he was occasionally used for Frölunda's professional team in the Elitserien . He also spent a large part of the 2007/08 season on loan at the second division Borås HC , for whom he scored ten points scorer in 24 games, including five goals. In addition, Larsen was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2008 in the fifth round as a total of 149th player by the Dallas Stars . Initially, however, he stayed at Frölunda HC, where he had a regular place in the Elitserien from 2008 to 2010.
After the end of the season in Sweden Larsen made his debut in the National Hockey League for the Dallas Stars towards the end of the 2009/10 season . He gave one assist on two appearances. For the 2010/11 season , the Danish international moved entirely to North America. In the regular season he played mostly for Dallas' farm team Texas Stars in the American Hockey League and qualified with his team for the playoffs, while he was six more times in the NHL for the Dallas Stars on the ice.
On July 4, 2013, Larsen was transferred to the Edmonton Oilers along with a seven-round suffrage in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for Shawn Horcoff . This gave him in May 2014 in the KHL to HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk , but kept his NHL rights.
In May 2015, Larsen was signed by Jokerit for one year . In February 2016, the Edmonton Oilers gave the NHL rights to him for a success-based five-round vote in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft to the Vancouver Canucks . In addition, the Canucks should be interested in signing Larsen for the 2016/17 season. They did so in July 2016 when they gave Larsen a one-year contract.
After a year in Vancouver in which Larsen had only made 26 appearances, the defender returned to the KHL and signed a two-year contract with Salawat Yulayev Ufa in April 2017 .
International
For Denmark , Larsen took part in the junior division of the U18 Junior B World Championship in 2006 , the U20 Junior B World Championship in 2006 , 2007 and 2009 and the U20 Junior World Championship in 2008 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the A-World Championships in 2009 , 2010 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 and 2018 .
