Viktor Nikolajewitsch Koslow ( Russian Виктор Николаевич Козлов ; born February 14, 1975 in Tolyatti , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player and current coach , who in the National Hockey League among others for the San Jose Sharks , the Florida Panthers , New Jersey Devils and the Washington Capitals was active. In Europe he played for Salawat Yulayev Ufa , Lokomotive Yaroslavl and most recently Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg in the Continental Hockey League .
Career
Wiktor Koslow was drafted in the first round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft as the sixth player by the San Jose Sharks . After playing for several seasons in San Jose, he joined the Florida Panthers on November 12, 1997 . In Florida Koslow spent his most successful time with players like Pawel Bure, among others . In his best season 1999/2000 he reached 70 points scorer in 80 games. Koslow played with the Florida Panthers until March 1, 2004, when he was transferred to the New Jersey Devils in an exchange deal with Christian Berglund and Wiktor Uchewatow .
He spent the lockout season in the Russian league with HK Lada Tolyatti . When the NHL had resumed gaming, Koslow returned to New Jersey .
In the fall of 2006 he signed a contract with the New York Islanders , but after a year he moved to the Washington Capitals .
In June 2009 Koslow received a three-year contract with Salawat Julajew Ufa . With Salawat he won the 2011 Gagarin Cup , the championship trophy of the Continental Hockey League . After his contract expired, Koslow moved to Lokomotive Yaroslavl in May 2012 .
Between January 2013 and the end of the 2013/14 season he was under contract with HK CSKA Moscow , but did not play a game for CSKA during the 2013/14 season due to an injury. From June 2014 he was under contract with Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg , but again only played a few games in the 2014/15 season.
From October 2015 Koslow was assistant coach at HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk before he was promoted to head coach in November 2017. For the 2018/19 season he was again assistant coach.
