Dsmitryj Mikalayevich Korabau ( Belarusian Дзмітрый Мікалаевіч Корабаў , Russian Дмитрий Николаевич Коробов / Dmitri Nikolayevich Korobov * 12. March 1989 in Navapolatsk , Byelorussian SSR ) is a Belarusian ice hockey player , who since May 2020 Salavat Yulaev Ufa of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL ) is under contract and plays in the position of defender .
Career
Dzmitryj Korabau began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of Chimik-SKA Navapolazk . At the age of 15 he moved to HK Homel , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Belarusian extra league in the 2006/07 season . He scored four goals in 46 games and gave five assists. He was also the Belarusian cup winner with Homel this season. After another year in Homel, he moved to the playoffs for league rivals HK Keramin Minsk , with whom he became Belarusian champion . Despite this success, the defender moved to league rivals Schinnik Babrujsk after the first day of the 2008/09 season . Over the course of the season, the junior international was committed by HK Dinamo Minsk , for whom he was on the ice in twelve games in the premier season of the newly founded Continental Hockey League . He gave two templates.
In the 2009/10 season Korabau was used exclusively for Minsk's new farm team HK Schachzjor Salihorsk in the Extraliga. In the 2010/11 season he was again a regular in the KHL team of Dinamo Minsk. In the following season he came to two missions at HK Homel and was otherwise only used in the KHL.
From May 2012 Korabau was under contract with Lokomotive Yaroslavl in the Continental Hockey League , but received an NHL entry contract for two years with the Tampa Bay Lightning in August . In the second year of his contract, Korabau was appointed to the Lightning NHL squad for the first time and completed three NHL games for the franchise. Otherwise he was in the American Hockey League at the Syracuse Crunch for use.
On July 1, 2014, Korabau decided to return to Russia and signed a two-year contract with Atlant Moskovskaya Oblast . Due to financial problems, Atlant withdrew from the game operation after the 2014/15 season and Korabau moved with some other players of the club to HK Spartak Moscow , which took over Atlants KHL starting place. After just one season in Moscow, he returned to Belarus, where he again played for Dinamo Minsk in the KHL.
In 2018 he left Dinamo again and was signed by Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod . He was active there for one year as well as with Amur Khabarovsk between 2019 and 2020 . In the summer of 2020, he switched to Salawat Julajew Ufa .
International
For Belarus, Korabau participated in the junior division in the U18 World Junior Championship of the Top Division 2006 and the U18 Junior World Championship of Division I 2007 as well as the U20 Junior World Championship of the Top Division U20 Junior World Championship of the Top Division 2007 and Division I in 2008 and 2009 .
In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the 2009 , 2011 , 2012 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 and 2017 World Championships .
