Atlant Moskowskaja Oblast (also Atlant Mytishchi , Russian Хоккейный клуб "Атла́нт" Московская область ) was an ice hockey club founded in 1953 under the name Chimik Voskressensk in the city of Mytishchi in Moscow Oblast . He last played in the Continental Hockey League until 2015 , after which he was dissolved. The club colors were yellow and blue.

history

From 1953 to 2005, the team played - with an interruption between 1955 and 1957 when they appeared as Chimik Moscow - under the name of Chimik Voskressensk . Before the 2005/06 season, the name was changed to Chimik Moskovskaya Oblast, as the club had moved from Voskressensk to Mytishchi . A larger stadium was available here that complied with the statutes of the Super League . The location in Voskressensk remained, however, as a team in the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division, was represented under this name . This managed to win the title in 2008 and it was then also included in the Continental Hockey League.

The club name Atlant Moskowskaja Oblast was re-chosen with the establishment of the KHL for the 2008/09 season .

Due to financial problems of the club this sold the KHL rights to up to 24 players to the SKA Saint Petersburg , so that Atlant could play the season 2014/15 to the end. In May 2015, the club withdrew from the KHL game operations due to ongoing underfunding.
