The 9th ice hockey world championships of the U18 juniors of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF were the ice hockey world championships of 2007 in the age group of under eighteen year olds (U18). Between March 5 and April 22, 2007, a total of 40 national teams took part in the six tournaments of the top division and divisions I to III. In addition, on January 28, 2007 a qualification for Division III with two participants was played for the last free place in the tournament.
For the third time, the Russian team won the world championship, defeating their arch-rivals from the United States 6: 5 in the final . The German team was able to prevent relegation to Division I with eighth place in the top division, while Switzerland took sixth place in the top division. Austria was fifth and penultimate in Group A of Division I and was thus able to avert slipping into Division II.

The U18 World Cup was held from April 11-22 in the Finnish cities of Tampere and Rauma . The games were played in the Tampereen jäähalli (7,800 places) in Tampere and in the Äijänsuo Areena in Rauma with 5,400 places.
Ten national teams took part in the tournament, playing in two groups of five teams each. The world championship was secured by Russia, which won the final 6: 5 against the defending champions United States. It was the second title for the Russians.

After the group matches in the preliminary round, the two group winners qualify directly for the semi-finals. The runners-up and thirds in the group each play a qualifying game for participation in the semi-finals. The fourth and fifth of the group games contest - if the result of the direct encounter from the preliminary round is taken with them - the relegation round and determine two relegated to Division I.
