Sergei Anatoljewitsch Korostin ( Russian Сергей Анатольевич Коростин ; born July 5, 1989 in Prokopjewsk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK Sokol Krasnoyarsk in the Vysschaja Hockey League since 2011 .
Career
Sergei Korostin began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth division of HK Dynamo Moscow , for whose professional team he made his debut in the super league in the 2005/06 season . In this and the following two seasons, however, the attacker could not prevail against the capital city. So he was mainly used for their second team in the third-class Pervaya League and only played ten games in the Super League. He remained pointless and punished. In the 2007 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected in the third round as the 64th player by the Dallas Stars . First, however, the left-handed shooter appeared in the 2007/08 season with Texas Tornado in the junior league North American Hockey League and the following year for the London Knights and Peterborough Petes in the Ontario Hockey League . For the 2009/10 season , the striker was assigned to the roster of the Dallas newly established farm team Texas Stars from the American Hockey League , after he had already signed a contract in Dallas in March 2008. He also played four games for the Idaho Steelheads in the ECHL .
For the 2010/11 season Korostin was committed by HK Dynamo Tver from the Wysschaja Hockey League , the new Russian second division. He then moved to his league rivals HK Sokol Krasnoyarsk for the 2011/12 season .
International
For Russia , Korostin took part in the 2007 U18 Junior World Championship and the 2009 U20 Junior World Championship .
