Nichlas Torp (born April 10, 1989 in Jönköping ) is a Swedish ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with the Düsseldorfer EG in the German Ice Hockey League .
Career
Nichlas Torp began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth division of HV71 , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Elitserien in the 2008/09 season . In his rookie year he prepared two goals in a total of 56 games and became runner-up with his team straight away. In the following season , the defender and his team won the Swedish championship . He contributed to this success with one goal and six assists in a total of 63 games. For the 2011/12 season he moved within the top Swedish division to Timrå IK .
Between 2012 and 2016 he played for Modo Hockey and started the 2016/17 season at Leksands IF. At the beginning of February 2017, he started his first foreign assignment and signed a contract with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) until the end of the season.
On January 26, 2019, the Düsseldorfer EG Torp committed until the end of the season.
International
For Sweden , Torp took part in the 2007 U18 World Junior Championship and the 2009 U20 World Junior Championship . At the U18 World Cup in 2007 he and his team won the bronze medal, at the U20 World Cup in 2009 the silver medal.
