Sergei Wladimirowitsch Andronow ( Russian Сергей Владимирович Андронов , English Sergei Andronov ; born July 19, 1989 in Penza , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK CSKA Moscow in the Continental Hockey League since August 2014 .

Career

Sergei Andronow began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Disel Penza , for whose second team he was active in the third-rate Pervaya League in the 2004/05 season . For the following season, the winger moved to the third-class second team of HK Lada Tolyatti , for whose professional team he then played for three and a half years in the top Russian league, first for two years in the super league and then for one and a half years in the newly founded continental hockey -Liga .

In December 2009 Andronow moved to Lada Tolyatti's league rivals HK CSKA Moscow , for whom he scored five goals in a total of 22 games and gave three more assists by the end of the 2009/10 season . In July 2012 Andronow extended his contract with CSKA for two years, but then decided to move to North America. There he received a one-year contract with the Peoria Rivermen from the American Hockey League (AHL). In the 2013-14 season he played for the Chicago Wolves in the AHL before returning to HK CSKA Moscow in August 2014.

International

For Russia , Andronov took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2007 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2009 . He and his teams won the gold and bronze medals. At the U20 World Cup, he was also voted one of the three best players on his team. With the senior national team, he won the bronze medal at the 2017 and 2019 World Championships , before winning the Olympic Games at the 2018 Winter Games under a neutral flag.
