Kharlamov Cup
The Kharlamov Cup ( Russian Кубок Харламова ) is the winner's trophy of the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja Liga , the highest Russian junior league in ice hockey . The cup was named after the Soviet ice hockey player Valeri Kharlamov and was awarded for the first time when the MHL was founded for the 2009/10 season .
A total of 29 teams from three participating countries play for this cup, 16 of which qualify for the play-offs after the preliminary round . The first three play-off rounds are played in best-of-five mode, the final series then in best-of-seven mode . The winner of the final round of the play-offs wins the Kharlamov Cup.
