Maxim Wladimirowitsch Mamin ( Russian Максим Владимирович Мамин ; born January 13, 1995 in Moscow ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with CSKA Moscow from the Continental Hockey League since November 2018 and plays in the position of the center .
Career
Mamin comes from the junior division of the CSKA Moscow Army Club . For the club, the striker first played in the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja League for the junior team Krasnaya Armija . During the 2014/15 season he finally made his debut on the professional team in the Continental Hockey League . There he was awarded the Alexei Tscherepanow trophy as the best rookie in the league at the end of the season .
After two more years in the CSKA squad, Mamin made the leap to North America for the 2017/18 season . He signed a contract with the Florida Panthers from the National Hockey League after they had selected him in the sixth round in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft in 175th position. During the season, the Russian first came to Florida's farm team , the Springfield Thunderbirds , from the American Hockey League . After making his debut in the Panthers NHL squad for the first time in January 2018, he established himself there from the following month and played a total of 26 games. After a poor start to the following season, he was loaned to his ex-club in Moscow in November 2018 to gain match practice there. At the end of April, the team announced that they had firmly signed Mamin and provided them with a contract until the end of the 2020/21 season.
International
For his home country, Mamin was on the ice in the junior division of the World U-17 Hockey Challenge 2012 , the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament 2012 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2015 . He won the gold medal at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge and three years later the silver medal at the U20 Junior World Championship.
The striker made his debut for Sbornaja during the 2015/16 season. His first major international tournament was the 2018 World Cup in Denmark .
